Upcoming events
-
On Saturday, June 13, MLC hosts its 2nd annual Juneteenth and Loving Day picnic, this year at the central pavilion in Sugar House Park, from 3 p.m. till 10 p.m. Juneteenth celebrates passage of the Thirteenth Amendment, ending slavery. Loving Day celebrates the Loving v. Virginia decision, which ended state bans on interracial marriage. Last year’s inaugural picnic was a great fun and about 150 people attended (managing to find their way to a remote section of Mill Creek Canyon).
It’s a potluck, and MLC provides the basics – beverages and hot dogs and hamburgers. Last year, the kids had a massive water balloon fight.
Please RSVP to mlc@law.utah.edu; we’re seeking to have a rough head count to buy enough food!
